Travel Advisory for Citizens and Residents of Brunei Darussalam

Please note it is our guests’ responsibility to ensure they meet the travel criteria and have all appropriate approvals and documents. Without this, RB is not permitted to allow guests to travel in-line with international air transport regulations.

Arriving into Brunei

Citizens and Permanent Residents of Brunei are required to present a valid and approved Arrival Declaration Form (ADF) upon arrival. RB advises to refer to Prime Minister’s Office for the latest entry guidelines.

Departing from Brunei

According to the Brunei Government’s enhanced movement restrictions from 4 October 2021 until 17 October 2021, please be informed that flights on Royal Brunei Airlines past the restricted hours (2000hrs to 0400hrs) remain unaffected.

Guests who are travelling on these flights must:

  • Keep a printed or digital flight ticket available for the accompanying driver as proof for the police at any routine checkpoint. The flight must be on the same day.
  • Only ONE (1) accompanying driver per car.
  • Once at the airport, the accompanying driver will remain in the car.
  • The accompanying driver must leave the airport immediately after drop off.

Following Brunei government regulation, please note from 16 March 2020 all citizens and residents of Brunei (including other nationalities holding green identification cards) are restricted from leaving the country, except in certain circumstances such as undergoing medical care, attending court hearings, or resuming study abroad. Permission for travelling must be approved by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Travel Portal.

Please be advised without the appropriate supporting documents and explicit approval from the Prime Minister’s Office, citizens and residents of Brunei will not be permitted to check-in or fly from Brunei International Airport with immediate effect.

In a press release on 1 June 2021, the Prime Minister’s Office has updated the Exit-Travel Application Guidelines for all citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam. Effective 1 August 2021, in addition to all other exit-travel requirements, all citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam exiting the country, are required to obtain injections of the COVID-19 vaccination before exiting the country.
